Everyone had a certain topic for each presentation and I believe that everyone did amazing. The topics were covered with research and text from the book and there were informational videos to help us as listeners understand examples of what was being taught to us. I feel that everyone did their very best and each presentation was presented with clear and concise descriptions and wording. In this blog, I will be talking about all the different presentations and groups and what I learned from each one. Know that this is how I truly felt and I hope to offend no one. We all at the end of the day did our best and we should all pat ourselves on the back.

I'd like to first start off with my group; group two. I loved the pictures and videos that were part of each of our presentations. The types of groups and descriptions that were given were easy to understand. Family and all kinds of social and emotional groups are really important in keeping balance in the community mentally and physically. The support groups I feel was my favorite part to research. My favorite part was the presentation that used Marvel and DC as an example because I am a huge fan and I feel that it was a good example for the topic that was being discussed. I rather enjoyed the colors and layout of each slide. I feel that everything was done rather well and in a professional manner. There were some minor technicalities with the technology and PowerPoint sharing but we pulled through and eventually started. I am rather pleased at how great the group worked together and communicated with each other over the duration of the presentation. After we were done presenting, my group complimented each other and gave encouraging words saying how we did great and that each person tried very hard. Words of encouragement like that show the dedication and respect that the member have for one another. I am glad to be a part of this group! We did great guys!

Group one caught my eye because of their professionalism and clear speech. I was engaged the whole time watching their presentation and how each member put so much effort into each slide. You could tell that they wanted to really make a good impression; which they did. I didn’t feel bored or annoyed listening to them. They held my interest and I felt like I really was learning and understanding what was being presented to me. They go into a lot of detail on relationships with religion, race and gender. The videos were informational and described exactly what it was they were discussing during the duration of class. There was more than plenty of time for them to present and they did it rather quickly but I was still able to learn and understand what was being spoken to me. The videos and photos were a huge help in having me understand what was being said. I am the type of learner who understands things by seeing them in front of me visually and in some cases with pictures as well. Group two did do exactly that, but I feel that group one really just hit the head on the nail.  I was able to understand this presentation better because of this reason. I honestly enjoyed this presentation and wouldn’t mind listening to it again for the second time.

Group three I feel did their best but didn’t really reach that college professional marker like all the other presentations. There were no informational videos to help me understand the topic better. There were also no pictures so I could have a visual view of what it was that was being presented to me. As stated in another reflection, I am a visual learner so I learn by watching videos or seeing pictures to help me understand the topic better and there was none of that present in this presentation. This was a little disappointing for me but they made it up by describing their topic very well and going into as much detail as possible using their words instead of visuals. I was able to understand a little bit but the visuals would have been a nice touch. They kept a more professional attitude by using monotone voices as if they were lecturing their own class. The presentations before them had a little more hype and excitement present. In some college presentations, especially if they are for an audience, in order to keep them engaged and wanting to learn, presenters would usually use a more cheerful and exciting tone. I feel that this group was going for a more professional/business type of presentation which is alright, it’s just not as engaging as others. Some prefer this type of presentation style but as part of an audience, I definitely prefer a more cheerful approach.

All in all, I feel that all the presentations achieved what they needed to. Each group had good presentation layouts and discussed the topic to the best of their abilities. There were some groups who had technical difficulties and some groups who could have elaborated more and used a more cheerful approach for theirs. I feel that for college presentations, there is so much processing and thinking that goes into making them that we as the presenters forget how to have fun putting them together. I could tell that each group communicated through their group chat and put a lot of effort into each slide. The whole idea of being in a group is to communicate, plan, and to be engaged in the topic and give it our best. Something I noticed which can be rare is that everyone participated. No one gave any excuses for not wanting to do the presentation which showed that we all cared and were willing to present no matter what. That’s what I call teamwork for a class.  WE ALL DID AMAZING AND I HOPE NOBODY DOUBTS THAT!!!
